With more time to breathe, more time to move and more time to relax, this is a lovely bit of self-care on a Saturday morning. Call or message Lily on 0459 138 797 to book your spot or check in with any questions.
With a bit of to-ing and fro-ing, figuring out life with a toddler and long drives to far-flung beaches, I've finally (I think) locked in classes for the year. The plan for the coming weeks is a bit up and down because I have a few things on, but then I'm hopeful we can get into a rhythm from April on. Famous last words.
So here's the plan:
The next class in Clunes will be THIS THURSDAY 7 MARCH 7pm at the Senior Citz hall on Fraser St. Then:
A week off on 14th March
Back on the mat on 21st March
A week off on 28th March
And then BACK BACK BACK in full swing from Thursday 4th April.
Sorry for all the confusion. Do feel free to give me a yell if you're not sure what's happening. I can't promise to answer the phone, but I will respond to messages when I can.
I am very excited to announce that we have a new venue for our Tuesday evening yoga class!
The Clunes Senior Citz have welcomed us with open arms and have even thrown in a store room... No more lugging mats and blankets around - hooray!!
The venue is located at 25 Fraser St, Clunes (corner Templeton and Fraser St).
See you Tuesday 7pm!!
New rates will apply from July 16th 2018:
Casual classes: $17
10 class pass: $130
5 class pass (NEW!): $75
And what do you get for this? A mat to practice on (if you want), a blanket to wrap up in (it's winter), a strap and a block if you need them AND the best one hour you can gift yourself in a week. Classes are warm, welcoming and challenging in all the right ways. Come along and find out for yourself!
Tonight was the last class for a few weeks as Meg and I are off to the UK! We'll be back in time to squeeze in a couple more classes before Christmas, so please watch this space.
We're also planning a longer workshop or two for the Christmas hols. Usually 3 hours on a Sunday afternoon, these will be a great way to unwind once the silly season is over!
Plus, we're in the planning stages of live streaming classes - this is pretty exciting. Existing class pass holders will be able to use their pass to access these online if not able to attend in person, and all others will be able to access them with a $15 payment via direct debit before the class. More details to come!
If you'd like to stay in the loop with all this exciting news, please drop me a line with your email address and I'll sign you up.
Love to you all on this momentous day in Australian history <3
Collins Place, Clunes - 10am Saturday 25 March
*Ok, so there's a catch.
Yes, it's a free yoga class - BUT I would like you to make a massive, wallet-liberating, happiness-making donation to the Fred Hollows Foundation as part of my 30km trek from Cape Schanck to Point Nepean.
If you haven't heard already, the 4 L's (Lily, Lois, Lana and Leslie) will be teaming up to go the distance on the 26 May. We are the Clunewalkers and we'd be very grateful for your support!
So what can you do?
How much should I donate for the class?
Think about what a normal yoga class costs. Pay that. Or double it. Or pay a bit less if it makes you feel good. Somewhere along those lines. Though I'd appreciate notes rather than coins :D
Who can do the class?
EVERYONE! Young, old, male, female, kids, grandparents, bring the whole family! Let's all get bendy for a good cause!
Thank you for your support x
I was honoured recently to be asked to speak at the Clunes Probus Club monthly meeting. I had a good think about what I could talk about (yoga: obv) and remembered something I'd written years ago about some of the teacher training I'd done.
On re-reading it, it seemed like a fun story and an interesting insight into what crazy stuff advanced training in yoga offers! So I thought I'd share it with you guys. Hope you enjoy!
I am excited to announce that Lily Mason Yoga and Clunes Neighbourhood House will be welcoming a new member to the yoga and fitness team in Clunes!
Christine Schmidt is a registered fitness instructor/personal trainer who has recently moved to the local area. She has been teaching pilates matwork and studio sessions for 15 years, and for the last 11 years has taught "Fitness through Awareness" classes combining pilates matwork with yoga and meditation.
While Lily is on maternity leave, Christine will be holding Fitness Through Awareness classes at The Warehouse, Fraser St on Monday nights at 7pm, starting on January 11th.
Current yoga pass holders can attend these classes, and new members are very welcome.
TRY A CLASS THIS WEEK! On Wednesday night at 7pm, Christine will be giving us a taste of what's to come.
Join us on the mat at the Warehouse, Clunes.
For questions, contact Lily on 0459 138 797 or Christine on 0417 336 378.
Yoga mats for sale - just in time for Christmas :)
New mats, just arrived, never used - $65
Used mats, btw 6 months to 3 years use, but they're so good you can't tell the difference! - $30.
- All mats are machine washable (max 40deg) and NO detergent! (Never use detergent on your mat unless you like to slip n slide!!)
- Truly excellent quality. They're studio-grade. I've been using this type of mat in classes for years. My own mat has travelled the world several times and I wouldn't use anything else.

The original and still the best traditional asana yoga mat from the same manufacturer as the VB & Maha mats in Germany. This non-slip sticky Oeko-Tex Classic Yoga Mat "EXTRA" is a high quality non slip mat offering a good balance of cushioning and excellent grip whilst remaining easy to roll up, carry and is machine washable at 40°C. European Oeko-Tex Yoga Mats are made in accordance with strict environmental regulations which minimise the impact of their production on the environment. With its orange peel like texture, excellent traction and toxix-free durability, even when moist, this long life mat will provide years of mat longevity for your practice.
This mat is ideal to use with your Nintendo Wii Fitness Balance Board, especially if you have wooden or tiled floors. See review below:
EXTRA mats have a raised texture which provides superior traction. Whereas general sticky mats have a texture only on one side and that wears out first, these EXTRA mats are textured both sides so the mat will last twice as long using both sides.
Linen fibres add to the durability and comfort of this long life mat while helping maintain stickiness even when moist. These mats are porus which means that the grip increases as time goes on.EXTRA traction mat soaks up sweat to stay grippy (rather than slip like the smooth grip types). Ideal for Bikram / Hot Yoga.
EXTRA is good for yoga on hard floors.
