A few life changes happening this end, which means a bit of rescheduling of yoga classes. Classes will be face-to-face, with zoom option available, unless we go back into lockdown, when we'll go back to the zoom only option.
Clunes Hatha Tuesday 7pm Will continue as usual. Classes will resume face-to-face this week. Last class for this year will be Tuesday 21 December. We'll return on Tuesday 5 January, 2022! Miners Rest Hatha Friday 9.30am Classes will be fortnightly. Next class will be Friday 15 October. Last class for this year will be Friday 26 November. We will return Friday 8th January, 2022! Clunes Chair Yoga Friday 11.30am Will continue as usual. Classes will resume face-to-face this week. Last class for the year will be Friday 17 December. I will announce a return date later in the year once the schedule has been worked out with Attitude. Please note that masks must be worn, but can be removed if you're feeling breathless. Hand sanitiser is available in the foyer and please BYO mat/accessories! There are no changes to vaccine rules foreseen for this type of activity, but go get jabbed anyway, unless you have an exemption. Yoga for this week kicks off tonight in Clunes with a Hatha yoga session at 7pm at the Senior Citz on Fraser St. If you'd rather stay home and practice, the link to the Zoom session is at the bottom of this email.
Then we've got Friday morning Hatha - 9.30am in Miners Rest at the Community Hall. Following that, at 11.30am on Friday we have Chair Yoga starting up! If you have a mat, you can bring it, but we'll be focusing our session on the chair, so it won't be necessary to have one. Classes are Hatha-based yoga, which means we practice asanas (poses) alongside breathing exercises and meditation and relaxation. You'll find more info here and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask: http://www.lilymasonyoga.com/classes.html. Tonight's zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZMpcO6grzksE9AW2-sZBo9VZjCXwnCWVev0 After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. I hope to see you on the mat/chair soon! xxLily A much-needed Chair yoga class is coming back to Clunes after a few years' hiatus. As part of the Attitude Club's offerings at the Senior Citizens Centre, Chair Yoga will be offered at very low cost for all participants from May to July thanks to Hepburn Shire's health and wellbeing program.
If you've never done chair yoga before, you'll be stunned by how much you can achieve on the chair! I have many years of teaching chair yoga under my belt and have seen some great results. I love the challenge of creating new classes each week for our regular sessions, and adding a chair to the mix inspires me to really get creative! The chair will be used to support our bodies to achieve many of the regular yoga asanas (poses). We'll do the usual breathing exercises and, of course, everybody's favourite: final relaxation. We'll see changes to our physical bodies (increase in strength and stamina, flexibility and range of movement), but also in other areas of life. Yoga increases our understanding of self, our breathing, our ability to sleep and assists us to cope with the stresses of life among many other mental health benefits. Chair yoga is great for those who are new to yoga or unable to participate in a traditional yoga class because of age, injury or disability. But we're open to everyone. All are welcome. The class will be run by Lily every Friday at 11.30am for 1 hour. There's no need to bring anything but yourself, wearing comfy clothes and maybe a water bottle and something warm to wrap yourself in for a relaxing finish. The cost of the session is very generously subsidised by Hepburn Shire Council for the next 16 weeks (from May 7th) via the Commonwealth home support program to deliver services to enable clients to remain living at home. This program will be funded from the Social Support program and participants are asked to contribute just $2 toward the cost of the class. No need to sign up, just turn up on the day. In short: Chair Yoga Beginning Friday 7 May at the Clunes Senior Citizens Centre, 25 Fraser St for 16 weeks. 11.30am- 12.30pm Cost: $2 Wear: Comfy clothes Equipment: Will be provided. No need for a yoga mat unless you want to lie down for final relaxation. Call or email if you have any questions: 0459 138 797 or lilymason75@gmail.com
Dear yogis
In light of concerns over the potential for transmission of Covid-19 to those vulnerable in our community, I have made the very difficult decision to temporarily suspend yoga classes. We're working on a plan to provide live-streaming sessions, so watch this space. In the meantime, the wonderful team at Absolute Yoga in Ballarat are offering these, plus videos you can sign up for and practice along with at any time. Head to www.absoluteyoga.com.au to learn more. This is not an easy decision. It means not only a financial loss for myself, plus a loss for the community halls we hire, but also the loss of yet another place where people can connect and find support. Please continue to support local businesses and each other. xLily I'm very excited to let you all know that yoga classes in Miners Rest will resume next Tuesday 5.30pm - 6.30pm (11th Feb)!!
Mats will be available but please BYO if you have one you'd prefer to use. I'll supply any props we might need but bring your fave blankie/cushion if you like. Usual rates apply: $17 for a casual class, $75 for a 5 class pass and $130 for a ten class pass - and those passes last a year, so heaps of time to use them if you need a break for any reason. Of course, if you already have a pass you're using in Clunes, that will be very much valid for Miners Rest too! Find your way to the Miners Rest Community Hall on Market St (It's just behind the pub) I'm so excited to see all those lovely Miners Rest faces again - and hopefully some new ones too! xLily With more time to breathe, more time to move and more time to relax, this is a lovely bit of self-care on a Saturday morning. Call or message Lily on 0459 138 797 to book your spot or check in with any questions.
Hi folks,
With a bit of to-ing and fro-ing, figuring out life with a toddler and long drives to far-flung beaches, I've finally (I think) locked in classes for the year. The plan for the coming weeks is a bit up and down because I have a few things on, but then I'm hopeful we can get into a rhythm from April on. Famous last words. So here's the plan: The next class in Clunes will be THIS THURSDAY 7 MARCH 7pm at the Senior Citz hall on Fraser St. Then: A week off on 14th March Back on the mat on 21st March A week off on 28th March And then BACK BACK BACK in full swing from Thursday 4th April. Sorry for all the confusion. Do feel free to give me a yell if you're not sure what's happening. I can't promise to answer the phone, but I will respond to messages when I can. I am very excited to announce that we have a new venue for our Tuesday evening yoga class!
The Clunes Senior Citz have welcomed us with open arms and have even thrown in a store room... No more lugging mats and blankets around - hooray!! The venue is located at 25 Fraser St, Clunes (corner Templeton and Fraser St). See you Tuesday 7pm!! xx Lily |
