- 120 minutes of traditional Hatha Yoga, including Pranayama, Asana, Meditation and Mantra.
- 75 minutes of traditional Saori weaving with Prue Simmons at the Sketched, Spun and Warped studio.
Suitable for beginners and experienced yogis and weavers.
Hatha is a traditional form of yoga, the practice of which is unique to each individual. It teaches us to look within ourselves, to observe and to understand who we are and what needs we have. It teaches us to live harmoniously with ourselves and others. It is this awareness that encourages and nurtures our creativity. In Sanskrit, the 'Ha-' means sun, or the masculine energy and '-tha' means moon, or the feminine. In yoga we unite these opposites, creating balance in the body and mind.
Once you've loosened up your creativity through meditation and movement, you won't want to miss the chance to unleash your ideas on the loom. Saori is a form of freestyle weaving, encouraging creativity and expression in textile form. In Japanese, the 'Sa-' comes from the Zen word 'sai' meaning individuality and the '-ori' the word for weaving.
8am - 10am Yoga Workshop - Traditional Hatha style with breath, asana, meditation & mantra
(10am - 10.30am Breakfast & chai provided for those attending both workshops)
10.30 - 11.45am Saori Weaving Workshop - materials provided.
$60 for both workshops OR
$40 for yoga only ($35 with current Inhale Exhale Yoga class pass)
$25 for weaving only (all materials provided)
